You must have your draft letter reviewed by Human Resources prior to submitting for signatures; please submit the letter for review via Cherwell (https://hrhelp.uccs.edu/cherwellportal/hr#0) for letter of offer review for staff.  After HR review, add your HR Consultant to the routing sheet at the end of this document and insert the HR signature first in the approval queue.

Interim Appointment

Prior to filling out the appropriate letter below, please ensure you have requested a salary analysis for the intended incumbent. A request form is not required unless you need to search for the interim incumbent.

Use the attached decision tree to understand the position number to use, the interim letter of offer template to use, and other important information regarding the intended incumbent of this position.


Notes:

  • Interim appointments should ordinarily be 6 months or less per CU APS
  • No posting required for interim appointment, but is required to fill the position regularly
  • You must take action to end the interim appointment. Provide an email or memo with end date to HR to initiate the termination of the interim appointment.
