Furlough, Unemployment and Layoff Resources
Employee furloughs lifted: Faculty and staff who were subject to furloughs this fiscal year will have them lifted, retroactive back to Jan. 1, 2021. Read this memo from the Chancellor for additional information and see instructions based on your employment type below.
- University Staff or 12-Month Faculty (excluding university officers) who took furlough leave via My Leave during the month of January should remove the furlough day or half day and replace it with administrative leave with the comment: “Furlough rollback directed by Chancellor.” Any pay deduction for furlough taken between January 1 and January 31, 2021 will be returned to you in the next payroll cycle.
- University Officers required to take an additional day/half day during the month of January should replace up to 8 hours (one day) with administrative leave with the comment: “Furlough rollback directed by Chancellor.” Any remaining furlough hours taken should be replaced with accrued vacation leave. Any pay deduction for furlough taken between January 1 and January 31, 2021 will be returned to you in the next payroll cycle.
- 9-Month Faculty receiving a 4.6% or 2.3% pay deduction due to furlough will have their spring contract restored to 100% and all future checks will include their full spring salary. There will be no need for an off-cycle payment. The contract will adjust automatically.
